Since having Sam as a coach, I’ve realised I used to leave so much gas in the tank during training. Every time I had a dumb question or anything involving working out, mental health or nutrition, I just sent a message to Sam and got an answer right away! Sam is an incredibly compassionate trainer. He truly cares about understanding his clients and building programs for their specific needs. He stays curious, is continuously learning and always willing to experiment. Sam focuses on celebrating progress and takes an approach that guides his clients to establish their own goals and methods. Sam will not apply pressure or insist on conventions so training with him is a lot of fun! In the cases I haven't met my goals, Sam uses it as an opportunity to reflect and iterate. His empathy and positive mindset ensures healthy and validating, highly-collaborative dialogues.

WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT TRAINING WITH SAM?

Sam has great listening and co-regulation skills. He is able to hold an emotionally safe space for the important conversations about why certain habits are difficult. Sam is refreshingly humble and is genuinely interested in learning from his clients as much as he is sharing his expertise. Sam has no agenda other than to support his clients in what they want to achieve in ways they are comfortable achieving them.

I've realised that I am more capable than I believed. I've gained some invaluable tools for self-care and feel confident about my journey even when it looks different to those of others.

ANY FINAL THOUGHTS TO TELL SOMEONE WHO IS CONSIDERING WORKING WITH SAM?

In order to train with Sam, you need to be honest and willing to trust the process. Sam knows what he is doing and will own up if he makes a mistake. He receives feedback well and utilises learnings from a variety of areas. Showing up to sessions consistently, in no matter what state, is important as Sam will find a way to serve you in the best possible way. He is able to adapt even during a session and accommodates different learning styles. I really encourage you to attend at least one training!

I would definitely recommend working with Sam. He's very enthusiastic about his craft and it shows in everything he does. If you're novice in training and I would say especially if you're advanced, he is your guy.

He makes things interesting even if you have been working out in a gym environment for over 10 years. Every month when a new program comes, there is usually at least two things I haven't tried before. That is something you don't come by often.

My strength and fitness level have taken huge leaps when working with Sam. My training has become way more efficient. I am making more progress even if i'm spending less time in the gym than before.
