WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO A FRIEND, ABOUT TRAINING WITH SAM?
Sam is an incredibly empathetic and motivating coach. He is somehow able to see through my insecurities in the gym, and help me overcome them and motivate me. Having never really consistently done weight training in the gym (other than in group class settings), I wasn't sure if I would be able to stay committed, especially with Sam being remote. But Sam's programs have been tailored to my skills, and even when I feel like I'm pushing out of my comfort zone, Sam has stayed with me through texts and video calls, and helped me overcome. Now's it's been 8 months and counting since I started training with Sam, and it's the longest I've been consistently in the gym doing weights. For anyone who is a bit intimidated with the idea of going to the gym, and in particular with weight training, Sam is a coach who will help you with the physical side of weight training, as well as the emotional side of it.
WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT TRAINING WITH SAM?
I guess I am a bit surprised by the results. I feel like the training, while not easy, hasn't been intense in the way that I am used to, having come from more endurance training where the end of every training I am soaked in sweat. However, the results really do speak for themselves. My weight has gone down a bit, but my body has really transformed in a way that I had not imagined it would. I'm nearly two belt notches slimmer around the weight, and in general just feel healthier and stronger.
WHAT BENEFITS HAVE YOU REALISED, PHYSICALLY OR MENTALLY, FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH SAM?
I feel like the physical results have been really beneficial not just from a vanity perspective, but really from an every day quality of life perspective. I feel like I can do more in life, from physical activities with kids, to personal hobbies like snowboarding and skateboarding. I'm just generally in better shape. Sam has also been a great person to talk to, as I feel I can talk to him about my general well being.
ANY FINAL THOUGHTS TO TELL SOMEONE WHO IS CONSIDERING WORKING WITH SAM?
Sam really is a great trainer, but also a great person. I have no reservations recommending Sam to any friend who is looking for a trainer. If you are a bit intimidated by the gym and weight training, Sam is a great trainer to work with. He does not overlook the details, so you will be prepared and ready to handle the weights when you get in the gym. And when emotionally you are drained, Sam will pick you up and help you get over the obstacles, even if they have nothing to do with gym training. He's there to build you up as a whole person, just with a particular focus on fitness.
